Enhanced Oil Recovery

Enhanced Oil Recovery

About the Course

Since discovering new giant oil fields is becoming difficult and world oil demand is increasing, it became necessary to adopt more applications of enhanced oil techniques in mature oil fields. This training course teaches an integrated approach of enhanced oil recovery (EOR) methods. It explains the connection of each process to the reservoir principles.

The participants will learn different design aspects, types, screening criteria, and field application of current and advanced types of Enhanced oil Recovery (EOR) processes. This course teaches basics, applications, problems, uncertainties and field development of each EOR method. Reservoir characterization techniques required for EOR will be explained and compared.

Course Objectives

The objectives of the training include, but not limited to, the following:

  • Describe and apply different EOR processes
  • Reservoir characterization and screening actual fields for EOR methods
