About the Course

The ECLIPSE industry-reference Black oil simulator offers the most complete and robust set of numerical solutions for fast and accurate prediction of dynamic behavior—for all types of reservoirs and degrees of complexity, structure, geology, fluids, and development schemes. ECLIPSE is a fully implicit, three-phase, 3D, general purpose black-oil simulator that includes several advanced and unique features. In this course, you will discover the various solutions ECLIPSE offers over the entire spectrum of reservoir simulation. This training focuses on understanding ECLIPSE syntax rather than simulation methodology.

Course Objectives

– Understand the concept of mathematical models and modelling of physical systems, simulation and analysis of physical systems and the steps involved in using such methods as a tool for problem solution.
– Be able to explain and understand the foundation, laws and elements of the Bond Graph method.
– Be able to identify physical laws and component descriptions according to the Bond Graph elements and constitutive laws, and to assess the validity of these for in simulation.
– Be able to utilize the Bond Graph method for modelling of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, thermal and thermodynamic systems, and hybrid and multidisciplinary systems in general.
– Be able to develop the dynamic equations in state space form directly from the Bond Graph.
– Be able to develop the state space equations for systems with differential causality or algebraic loops, i.e. implicit or differential-algebraic first order differential equations, using causality analysis and/or model modification.
– Develop models of mechatronic or hybrid systems and carry out simulations for evaluation of the dynamic properties of the models or in support of problem solution.
– Be able to utilize modern modelling and simulation software as 20-Sim and Matlab for modelling, simulation and analysis of dynamic systems.
