Level 2 courses are aimed at members of the wellsite operations team working in roles which could directly contribute to the creation, detection or control of a well influx or lack of well integrity.
Course Objectives
It is designed to introduce to strategies to reduce the increasing tendency of well control incidents and techniques that can be applied to avoid the escalation of incidents to uncontrolled events and catastrophic consequences.

- The ‘U’-tube – Well Pressure Analysis
- Kicks – Causes, Prevention and Detection
- Well Shut-In Procedures
- Well Control Methods (constant BHP) with Circulation
- Special Well Control Situations
- Tertiary Well Control Industry (API) Standards and Best Practices
- Well Control Equipment, BOP Inspection and Testing Procedures
At the end of the 4th day, exams will be conducted, and the exams have two components as:
- Principles and Procedures
- Equipment
Candidates that successfully pass both components will be issued the L2 IWCF Certificate that is valid for five years only.
